This last year has been one of the most challenging of our lifetimes, and the pandemic exploited so much of what is not working for everyday people in Southern Arizona. Our community was impacted hard, and many of us lost friends and family members far too soon. But we also persevered, and we watched as many of those around us stepped up to be there for this community. I am running for Congress because our neighbors need someone in Washington who will fight to ensure everyone has access to medical care, a living wage, a habitable neighborhood, a refuge, real public safety, and the opportunity for a quality, affordable education. We need someone in Congress who will advocate For the Community.

MY NAME IS MARCOS J. URREA

I’m running to represent Arizona’s second district in Congress so that I can give back to the people of the community that I have always considered my home.

My parents immigrated to the United States from Mexico in the late eighties and eventually settled in Tucson shortly after I was born: it’s truly the only home I’ve ever known. I am a graduate of Santa Rita High School, located on the southeast side of Tucson. While I was a student there, I fell in love with performing music and decided to enroll at the University of Arizona as a music education major...
